Subsequent acquisition of Turkish citizenship through adoption Turkish citizenship is regulated in Turkish Citizenship Law Article 17 as follows:

A minor child adopted by a Turkish citizen can acquire Turkish citizenship from the date of adoption provided he/she has no quality constituting an obstacle in respect of national security and public order.

According to the law:

If foreign children under the age of 18 are adopted by a Turkish citizen, they have the right to acquire Turkish citizenship later, provided that there is no obstacle to national security and public order.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION

• Application form stating the request of the adopter or parent or guardian (VAT-7),
• 2 biometric photographs, 50×60 mm in size, on a white background,
• Notarized Turkish translation of the birth certificate,
• Birth certificate to be issued based on the birth certificate (VGF-10-01),
• Receipt the service fee
